Aidan Dennison Kayson McKinney
CMS Spartan of the Week for Sept 15th
Aidan Dennison is the Connersville Middle School 8th Grade Spartan of the Week for the week of September 15, 2023. Aidan is the son of Steve and Candace Dennison. Mrs. Ann Alcorn, the CMS Media Center Assistant, nominated Aiden. Mrs. Alcorn personally selects her green coat student helpers each school year and says: “Aiden is always on time and polite. He is responsible and very respectful to student and staff. Aiden is always looking things to do beyond what is needed. He is a great asset to the Media Center”.
As a hobby, Aiden enjoys cooking and baking. He has an interest in furthering his skills and attending Culinary School after graduation. Aiden’s interest in cooking was heightened when he took Family and Consumer Science, an experience he has in common with his Dad, Steve. When asked what he likes best about CMS, Aiden stated: “I really like working in the library. I get to work with my peers, help students and get a grade”.
Kayson McKinney is the Connersville Middle School 7th Grade Spartan of the Week for September 15, 2023. Kayson is the son of Kayleigh McKinney, and the grandson of Katie Bachmann and Mike McKinney. Mr. Ben Brown, the CMS Consumer and Family Science teacher, nominated Kayson. Mr. Brown says: “Kayson embodies the three R’s; Respectful, Responsible and Ready to Learn. Kayson has a great attitude and good work ethic. It is a real joy and pleasure to have him in my class”.
Kayson is a member of the CMS Football team, where he plays Running Back and Defensive End. He has played basketball for the Dirt Road league and Baseball for the Wildcats Travel league. Kayson intends to bring his talent to CMS and try out for the school basketball and baseball teams. When asked what he liked best about CMS, Kayson responded: “I like the teachers and the opportunity to see old friends and make new friends”. Kayson shared that one of his favorite classes is Family and Consumer Science, where he is learning more about making healthy food choices and improved lifestyle habits. Kayson credits his family, friends and teachers for the support that help him be successful.
